Invisible iOS Dock Spacer Icon
Last year my wife and I read Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, and afterward let go of a lake of dross we’d been swimming in for years. I’ve tried to do the same with my workflows, to bring useful tools closer and cut the rest loose.
This is a long way of saying I deleted a ton of apps from my phone and the remaining icons felt too diffuse on my home screen until I came across _DavidSmith’s iOS icon spacer hack. After making a bunch of black icons, my phone looked like this:
You see the issue. To fix it, I knocked off David’s header (which has an invisible-to-iOS Unicode character in the title) and made a new icon to match the grey color of the dock – that page is here. The result:
